Scale Control Products

Most oil and gas wells coproduce water and as such are also likely to develop deposits of inorganic scale at some time in their lifespan. Scales can coat and plug perforations, valves, pumps, gas-lift mandrels, down-hole and surface tubulars, and separation equipment. When uninhibited, these scales will limit and eventually stop production of the well/system.

Rather than using costly removal techniques, such as acid surfactants or mechanical removal, Specialty Intermediates offers a host of cost effective chemistries designed to inhibit the formation of these inorganic scales before they can form.

Intermediate Classifications:

  • Polymers
  • Phosphate Esters
  • Triethanol Amine
  • Alkyl Aryl Complex (Dispersant)
  • Phosphonates
  • Bis-Hexamethylene Triamine
  • Diethylene Triamine
  • Ether Amine
  • Poly Ether Amine

The chemistries are available in a host of forms to formulate products designed for either “squeeze” applications or continuous injection.

Most products can be easily combined with many of our corrosion inhibitors to formulate combination products as well. Talk to your Specialty Intermediates Representative today for more detailed information about performance characteristics and formulation guidance.
